Grantwriting part x

Re: Brief/Discussion with Ron Mirr:

  • Three printed copies.
  • Signed off on Board -- as in available commenting
  • Intense sign-off Wayne, Emanuel, Jerry/Dana (because have offered extensive comments)

-Have started Merlin analysis of grant prep activities
Grant Needs:
-plain(er) language
-better focus
-tactical details:

  • dovetails with and/or extends present efforts in field
  • gives a clear and real if not giant priority to urgent state/region needs
  • somehow pulls off idea of educational renaissance/reconstruction while alienating the fewest
number of regular educators (JJ, DE as clear but by no means only example)
  • defines, resolves issue of bang for buck which has to be relative to goals & objectives & finance (the question which came to mind when WJ raised issue was : do we want full time or consultative staff. save on benefits, they work only on assigned activities, we get broader set of understandings/expertise to apply to problems.)
